Our attorneys offer clients deep China market knowledge combined with global perspectives gained from decades of collective experience. Our team includes both Chinese lawyers trained in China's legal system and US-educated lawyers with international backgrounds.

All of our attorneys are fully bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, enabling seamless communication with foreign and Chinese clients. Several team members also possess fluency in additional languages.

Cheng Wang

Founder
Cheng Wang, the firm's founder, spent over 15 years at leading international firms including Jones Day, Sidley Austin, and Simmons & Simmons prior to establishing our boutique China-focused practice. He was a resident lawyer in Shanghai from 2001-2006 where he advised U.S. and European clients on market entry, M&A, VC financing, IP protection, regulatory approvals, and dispute resolution. Cheng frequently travels between the U.S. and China, allowing him to maintain an extensive network of connections in both markets. He is a frequent speaker and author on China business topics. Cheng is admitted in Washington State and passed the NY bar exam.

Bin Qi

Bin Qi is a seasoned China practitioner focused on FDI, corporate matters, and dispute resolution. He has advised Japanese, U.S., and European clients on China investments and operations since 1999. Bin is recognized as an expert on China labor law, having worked at the Ministry of Labor and as senior counsel for major Chinese and foreign companies. He assisted clients across industries like energy, manufacturing, and financial services. Bin reads and speaks conversational Japanese.

Branan Yuan

Branan Yuan has over 10 years of experience supporting US and European clients with business initiatives and dispute resolution in China. Her insights stem from past roles as a China-based prosecutor and legal consultant at Jones Day's Shanghai office. She has particular expertise in IP disputes, labor matters, and sourcing solutions.

George X. Huang

George X. Huang previously spent 6 years advising foreign companies on China market entry at a leading Chinese firm. He represents international clients in arbitrations before CIETAC and litigations in China. George is admitted in New York and China.

Elaine Zhang

Elaine Zhang leverages over 7 years of experience at China's State Council crafting foreign investment laws and policies. She now focuses on advising US companies on cross-border real estate and immigration matters. Elaine has authored books and articles on Chinese legal topics.

Liping Peng

Liping Peng concentrates on cross-border transactions and trade disputes. She has experience across corporate, IP, immigration, healthcare, and litigation matters in China and the US. Liping is a native Mandarin speaker also fluent in English.

Hongbin Bao

Hongbin Bao advised foreign investors in China for 4 years before relocating to the US. He has litigation experience from externships with government legal offices and prosecutors. Hongbin is fluent in Chinese and English.

Wei Wang

Wei Wang has experience advising US, European, and Japanese clients on China market entry and operations at Chinese law firms. She assists foreign investors with FDI, IP disputes, and litigation. Wei is admitted in China and fluent in English and Mandarin.
